How do you make Simple Sloppy Joe’s?
First, dice an onion and chop either a red or green pepper. After preparing the veggies, spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray and turn the heat to medium-high. When the skillet is hot, add the diced onion and sauté for about two minutes. Next, add the pepper to the skillet and sauté for two minutes.
Then, add the ground beef to the skillet and use either a wooden or metal spoon to chop up the beef and combine it with the veggies. Cook the beef with the veggies until no pink remains.
After the ground beef has cooked, add the minced onion to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds. Next, add the tomato paste and stir until well combined.
Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet, which include the water, mustard, tomato sauce, salt, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, paprika, and crushed red pepper flakes, and stir to combine.
Finally, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes. The simple sloppy joes mixture should be thick. Scoop the mixture into toasted hamburger buns and serve.
